About Miss Collazo
Hello! My name is Julissa Collazo, and I am a senior at Butler University (Go Dawgs!)
I am pursuing a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Diverse Learners. By the end of my senior year, the Butler College of Education will have provided me with nearly 1,500 hours of experience in elementary schools across Indianapolis, Indiana. I am incredibly lucky to be a member of such an active community that cares deeply about the happiness and success of all students.

A little bit more about me
I am from the city of Chicago and come from a very vibrant Puerto Rican family. Together, we love to sing, dance, play games, and cook. Many of my family members are educators or in the education field, so I think being a teacher has always been in my blood!
On campus, I am the committee chair for the Education and Advocacy Committee of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Board of our Student Government Association. I am also on the executive team for our university's Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity and have been a resident assistant for the past two years.
When I'm not at school, I enjoy working at a local Indianapolis children's bookstore, traveling, trying new foods, and being with my family and friends!
Fun Fact: I've traveled to Japan, Peru, Jamaica, Mexico, and Puerto Rico!
